Today, I am writing this article, Ooop… just only two more months to go. Oh! My God! How can I express my feeling? I remember, it was not an easy feeling when I was standing in front of the Country Committee Members with other talented candidates to hear a final result, and I was selected finally. Here, there are many things that I want to say, but it’s not easy to express, except the feeling of enthusiasm to learn, to understand, to meet, and to share with other 8 Asian Countries + Japan. Although it’s not the first time for me to see or even to attend the training program in Japan, the upcoming 57 days will be one of an amazing experiences to change my life eventually. Exactly, “Leadership” has been in my mind long time ago, but I haven’t found my own style of leadership yet. Therefore, being one part of this program, I hope to find out what is my own style of leadership through “Learning and Thinking together” with others. Last, I don’t make any promises to do this or that after coming back to Cambodia, but I will try my best to do the best for everyone. Let wait and see! See you soon Japan and all the young professional experts from ASEAN countries. Love you! Seyleak
Throughout 55 days in IATSS Forum, it’s a very wonderful time for me to be able to experience and to learn many things. How can I elaborate it with few lines of words? Anyway, I would like to mention the most important and inspired lessons that I have leant from IATSS Forum. First, it’s talking about “the different style of leadership and coordination”. Everyone has their own different and unique style of coordination and leadership. Also, this two skills are very necessary for both professional and personal life. Of course, I am also the coordinator in my professional daily life too. I know how hard to be a good coordinator. Anyway, good or not good is not a matter. The matter is how we challenge in order to achieve the common goals. Back to what I am going to say, during 55 days, I can say that everyone around me including 51st IATSS participants and IATSS Forum members have influenced a lot on my achievements to find out what is my leadership and coordination style. They have helped me to find out my strengths and weaknesses which I have never ever known before. I am so grateful that IATSS Forum has helped me fulfil the objectives that I set for myself before coming to Japan. The IATSS Forum has given me the journey of self-discovery which was be able to change myself definitely. I also would like to take this opportunity to express my thankfulness to many other individuals that I have met during my stay in Japan including the IATSS Forum staff, Japanese volunteers, facilitators, lecturers, so on and so forth. All of them has contributed in my process of self-discovery and my personal growths. Besides, I have been inspired by Mr. Soichiro Honda’s way of leadership which mainly focuses on “Philosophy”. I have realized that the philosophy is a root to make the organization sustain if everyone understands it correctly and commit to achieve it eventually. Therefore, this lesson can give me the way to help my organization to be sustainable by establishing Philosophy, to help my community or society to be sustainable by keeping our own culture once everyone understands the value of it perfectly. Last but not least, I am sure I am going to utilize and to share all of my experiences to my co-workers, my friends, and my community as much as I can, through my daily life in order to contribute in developing my society as a whole.
