Hi everyone, Greeting from Malaysia.. No words can describe my excitement and joyful after being selected as one of the participants of this 52nd IATSS Forum. Mixed of feelings came but I just put in my mind “Enjoy Yourself”. This coming Autumn Forum will be one of the platform for me to shape myself to a better person especially leadership and interpersonal skills. I really feel excited to meet new friends from other countries to share our culture, knowledge, thinking, ideas and go through all the activities together. Of course I also cannot wait to feel the warmth environment of Japan itself while enjoying beautiful scenery of the Autumn season..feel like Autumn is already in my heart. More important for me is to be able to learn and explore knowledge about Japan itself such as the culture, technology and people through seminar, workshop, field study, cultural exchange day, gasshuku, homestay which give me an opportunity to develop myself as a future young leader. I really want to THINK and I really want to LEARN TOGETHER with the other my new friends. For the 52nd IATSS Forum staff, ‘aeru no o tanooshimi ni shite imasu’. See you this Autumn. Arigatoo Gozaimashita.
Hajime Mashite Watashiwa Rini desu Malaysia Karakimashita Peko peko desu Those are the Japanese words that I remember the most during my 2 months stay in Japan. Thanks to our IATSS staff that made me possible to learn those beautiful words. What important lesson I learnt from IATSS Forum?? For me personally, it was really amazing experience which I might have once in my lifetime. This IATSS Forum program changed my perception on ‘SUSTAINABLE’ and ‘LEADERSHIP’. Sustainable is not always about using high technology or high investment, it is about utilizing whatever resources you have which can give back to the society. Sustainable also not always refer to innovation on new technology, but somehow it can be defined through innovation of human character from the young age. I learnt these new definitions of sustainable from my field trip to Nishiyodogawa and Toba City. To be a good leader who can leave a good legacy, I have to familiarize myself with the words ‘Step up from your comfort zone’. It is not an easy step for everyone but once I manage to challenge myself to be out of my comfort zone, I will be able to move myself further and improve the way of my thinking. Surprisingly, I found these words really amazing which made me feel more confident in doing my present task and voice out my opinion publicly. To be a future leader who can face any kind of challenges, I need to step out from my comfort zone so that I will be able to overcome those obstacles. In IATSS, leadership always refer to ‘TEAMWORK’. By maximizing your group potential, you will be able to be a good leader. If you want to go faster, go alone...But in IATSS, we always want to go further, and that is why we always go together. And lastly of course I would never forget every single things I experienced in Japan especially the foods, culture, ethics, ONSEN... Thank you very much to the all IATSS staff for the special caring and amazing experience during the IATSS Forum.
