Completion of the 44th IATSS Forum

We would like to report to you all that we have successfully completed the 44th IATSS Forum, the Completion Ceremony having been held on November 8th, 2008. We would also like to express our deepest appreciation to all the people who have given us so much support and cooperation.
In the 44th IATSS Forum, there were 17participants from 9 Southeast Asian countries. During approximately 2 months of training, based in Suzuka City, the participants visited a number of cities such as Ise, Nara, Kyoto, Nagoya, Yokohama and Tokyo. Despite the tight schedule of seminars, group study, cultural exchange activities, and study tours, all of the participants made great efforts to achieve their objectives and targets. And as a result, they have successfully completed the program.
As for the characteristics of the 44th batch of participants, some were also employed in education as teachers or instructors like many in the 43rd batch. Many of them, however were from a variety of fields, such as community development, civil affairs, human affaires and government agencies. So we shared our different knowledge and gained from different aspects through out the program.
At a point in the 44th IATSS Forum, we had Koryu-time in which participants introduce their life-styles and a study tour to Nara, to which Japanese volunteers were invited. So the participants had much of interaction with Japanese people. We believe that these firm bonds of friendship will remain in the hearts of each individual, even after their return to their home country.
