"Hotaru" Project status report from Tim
We are very glad to have a proceeding report from Tim-san, a former participant of 45th from Singapore, about the current status of the "Hotaru" project, which was presented in the 45th IATSS Forum Group Study presentation.
Hello, IATSS Forum memberships!
I just came back from Laos last week, we have successfully kick started the Hotaru projects. I brought a group of 16 students together with one more teacher from my school to the Na-Ang village on the 24th Sep to start on our phase 1 project. It was a fruitful and fun trip.
For this phase 1, we actually built a 3m x 3m x 3m water tank which will meant to supply for the entire village and also the future farming program for the school.
The villagers are very friendly and helpful and it is a wonderful experience for both the students and the villagers to work hand in hand in constructing the water tank.
Although we could not finish the water tank in time which still left with 30% to be completed, it was still a job well done for all that have contribute to the construction work, throughout the 10 days.
We really hope the next trip back to Laos we could see the water tank fully complete.
Hopefully one day Hotaru can light up the world.
Tim
