Looking Ahead with Hope for the Future I am most grateful to the organizers of the IATSS Forum for choosing and allowing me to take part in the program. I am very excited to meet and interact with all the other particiants and trainers. We all come from very diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. With the forum being just around the corner I have given some thought to the motto of IATSS “Thinking and Learning Together.” When people learn new thing it brings about understanding and growth. These golden oppurtunities that the forum presents are the things I look forward to the most. I hope to understand the perspectives, ideas and backgrounds of the other partcicipants and learn from their experiences. It cannot be a one-way street. I also hope to bring and impart the knowledge and know how that I have so that others may pick it up. The comprehension and apprecaition of each other that develops later on can bring about growth in all of us by broadening our horizons. Our interactions also fosters the development of linkages and hopefully future frienships between us. All of these happens in the background of Japanese culture and expertise, nothing can be better or more fitting. I am truly very excited and anticipate that good things will come at the Forum.
The IATSS Forum was truly a once in a lifetime oppurtunity. It was a very good avenue for self discovery and self improvement. It allowed me to become more confident in myself to take leadership roles in my professional life and be more in control of my personal life. My time in Japan during the IATSS Forum has deepened my understanding of Japan and Japanese culture. Before the IATSS Forum my understanding of Japan was very superficial but that is not the case anymore. I am sure the same would be the case for the new participant. They should try to fully imbibe and enjoy their IATSS Forum experience.
