Hello everyone,
Wow surely time flies fast! Cause I can still remember when I apply for IATSS Forum last year, and now we’re all on the brink just before the Forum starts. It’s a great feeling to know that I would meet such inspiring people from various countries and backgrounds, and of course getting a whole new experience, knowledge and perspectives in areas that truly related to my activities back here.
The tagline of the Forum is “Thinking And Learning Together”, that line kinda linked to an old Indonesian proverb that says “Berguru kepalang ajar, bagai bunga kembang tak jadi” which means that in terms of learning something, we have to be serious and focused. But nowdays, I believe that “fun” should be added to the learning process, because when we enjoyed the process, the chance for a greater result is far more better. And the “fun” aspects in learning is what I’m looking forward in the Forum, especially when it comes with the other participants that comes from different cultures, unique learning methods or approaches and in such beautiful yet ultra-modern country like Japan. Imagine what we can learn from a shinkansen ride for example, or when we take a walk in the famous Harajuku area, or even in daily routines such as shopping in a local shop. Can’t wait to experiencing myself in such learning atmosphere and hopefuly it shaped me and the other participants to become a great, innovative leader, yet humble person.
Last but not least, I would say “arigatou gozaimasu” to the Committe for the hard work organizing the Forum, the Forum’s Alumni for the support, and everybody that got involved in the Forum.
Ganbatte kudasai!!
